A little somethin'

Here's a little peak at something I'm working on for a friend.  The color is deceiving because it is actually more of a burnt orange with a reddish tint, but here it does appear red doesn't it?  Well, anyway, you get the idea!!!  I am going to paint the animals a pale blue/ gray to go with the nursery.  This has to be one of my favorites!

My Loves

I have so many random loves going through my head at the moment so I thought would unload...

This is hands down the best yogurt in town.  It has the CREAMIEST texture and the perfect blend of fruit (my favorite being blueberry)  This is dessert, breakfast or really any time of day treat.  And a treat it truly is!!!  You MUST try it next time you are at Whole Foods!

Loving the EM Lowriders for fall!

Now I know you have seen a few of these pics below before, but in case you haven't, they are from Emerson Farm where Emerson and her husband live.  This pantry has been all over the place but it is still to die for, don't ya think?!  Imagine having the time and the space to organize like this!!!!  In another life:)

This laundry room sink is pretty killer too-love how bright and white everything is in their farmhouse

The composition of this picture is quite telling...

This comfy spot would be the perfect place to sink into after a long day....
Ahhh....

You like this fabric?  I can't decide if I do or don't???   If the print is large scale then yes.  I want to get some pillows made for the living room sofa and was thinking this fabric might look nice with my feed sack.  See below.

It reminds me of this shower curtain-which I am still obsessed with!  I think I like this fabric better though because of all the white in it.  Moving on....

This is an example of how my burlap feed sack will one day look...wouldn't it be nice to have a whole house transformation to look just like this space.

My last picture won't upload for some reason??? So maybe tomorrow.....

Ikea Kitchen

What are your thoughts on Ikea kitchens?  Anyone out there have one or know someone who has one?  We are seriously considering a kitchen redo and are leaning towards Ikea.  I found a super informative blog that lists all the pros and cons of going this route. Carol Reed is recognized as a top interior designer in Toronto.  Here are some pics of Ikea kitchens she has designed...pretty impressive, huh?

This is my favorite style of cabinet and hardware.  I am not sure it's Ikea but a similar look can be achieved.

And here are two more favorites of mine.

Ahhh!  Drooling.  Loving these dark floors, white cabinets, elongated hardware, chandelier, stainless counters-this is pretty much exactly what I have been thinking of!!!!!

I came across this image on Little Green Notebook and I was smitten right off the bat. Look at the campaign style hardware!!!!  And yes, apparently this is an Ikea kitchen!!!  Love this herringbone pattern on the floor.  Fireplace isn't bad either.

So tell me your thoughts.  Ikea or No?

Where have you been?

You might ask??  I decided to take a little break from blogging (and painting) and catch up on some good ole QT with the fam.  After our last Novel. show, our little family moved out to Sullivan's Island for the week to enjoy a little fun in the sun with my in laws!
It all started very innocently...

But as the week went on...

Well, you get the idea.  Not a whole lot of work was taking place during this peaceful and relaxing week:)

Next up was a little to trip to visit my parents with the boys.  We hit the road yesterday midday intending to stay until Wednesday.  INTENDING is the key word here-we didn't make it to noon Tuesday before I had the car packed up and headed south.  The boys were scaling the walls-lets just say in the time we were there, Mr. Big fell in the pool (no worries, I fished him out), I broke my toe (twice), R needs his ears cleaned because he was having a hard time hearing me;), annnd Mr. Big woke up at 5 am.  It's always fun going home and visiting with my parents and friends (sorry SP-I'll have to catch you next time!!!)  We had a fun but short trip....until next time...

I only managed to take a few pics while I was there

I couldn't resist this picture...love how lush and green everything is this time of year!!!

I am obsessed with this fabric.  My mom says it's been on the chair 40 years-can you believe how well it's held up!!  Especially in a neutral tone.  I so wish I knew where I could find this fabric or something like it.  Funny how cyclical trends are isn't it?

I started searching when I got home and ran across a great fabric site on Jenny's blog that I always forget about.  Have you checked out Spoonflower?  You can design your own fabric-how cool!!!!  I bet I could design something similar??  And the prices range from $18-$32 a yard.  I'll share a few of my favorites..

This leads me to tell you about a new project  I'm helping a friend with...custom painted hand towels.

Ok, so if you have been reading my blog recently, you know that I have been trying my hand at a wildflower tapestry similar to this.  Well, I finally finished and here she is...what do you think?

She's for sale if there are any takers out there!!!!  Just shoot me an email on my contact button at the top.

Remember these?  Well, you may not if you haven't been a recent follower, but these were once a pair of black parsons tables we had collecting dust in the garage.  I decided to paint them white and add a little green geometric design on top...

I wasn't digging the edges though.  Something was off.  So, I decided to carry the green down the "lip" for lack of a better word, of the tables.  I think it made all the difference.

Tables are for sale individually or as a pair.
Contact me if local and interested:)

Here are some gorgeous Balboa pieces by Jane Pope Cooper.  You can get an idea for the design beneath the jewelry.

Work in Progress

Ok y'all.  I am finally attempting my wildflower tapestry.  Hoping it will come out looking something like this???  I am in the very beginning stages but here are a few shots of what I have going on so far.

ps-Don't you think I could make pom pom trim like that just by hot gluing balls to the edge?  I'm going to give it a whirl.

You will find finished product hanging in Novel. for our party introducing Bon Vivant
next Thursday, August 11.  Hope some of you can join us:)

ACKKK!  I can't believe I am even showing these pictures...I have such a LOOONG way to go-looks horrible up close.  I have to keep in mind it's on a pretty large scale and will be hung way up on the wall where these guys currently live.
