I Need Help!

I really do.  I am trying to get everything lined up for this reno to take place at the first of the year (fingers crossed) and I need your help deciding on paint colors.  This may not be very exciting for most but I need your input on what your favorite neutral colors are and what brand?????  Do I go with Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore????  Or a whole other route!!!     I'm going white and grey this go around.  Somewhere in this family...

You may thing that's BLAH but I've done color.  I have a RED kitchen for Pete's sake and I'm tired of it!!!!!!!!!!!  So white we go.  Walls, cabinets, countertops, and the floor (well, in my mind the floors, but i've had a change of heart and we will either go with a dark, dark stain or painted)  Here are some inspirational pics form my Pinterest account to give you an idea of what we're after.

I am definitely planning to incorporate shades of blue into my all white house.  Particularly this shade.
So tell me.  What are your favorite whites or neutrals?  I want to hear.....

I know, such a lame title for this post but I can't think of a better way to let you know that I have "new stuff" from blue chickadee.  Check it.

I have also finally updated my "shop" so click over there on the right to see some recent works.

Now on to the good stuff.  While I have been working hard to get some more of these silhouettes painted....

my little guy was working on a silhouette/self portrait of his own:)

When asked in a very firm, I'm totally ticked, how am I gonna get this off the wall voice, his reply was, "momma, it's a happy face"
not so much...
I'm not seeing a smile.  you?

Recent Happenings

Our Wallabee's arrived from here over the weekend.   Thank you Natalie for the rec! We could not be more excited.  Can you tell who has a mismatched pair?

We made yummy cinnamon muffins.  Sad to say they are not of the homemade variety...more like

Same fun nonetheless!

We made a little time for artwork.  I'm loving Little R's color palette!  He used Kids Paint Dot Markers-LOVE!

And Mr. Big didn't want to be left out.

Hope y'all have a great week ahead!

1.Take a picture of your child's profile against a back background. Email a high resolution image to laurie@charlestonrevisions.com

2. Pick the size-all canvases are gallery wrapped (meaning 2 inches thick so no need for a frame unless desired)

Sizes
12"X12"-$95
16"X16"-$125
16"X20"-$155
24"X24"-$185
24"X30"- (2 children on one canvas) $225
24"X48"-(3 children on one canvas)$275

Nursery Notations

Have you checked out Andrika's blog, Nursery Notations?  She has a talent for designing functional yet playful interiors for children.  I have been following her blog for a long while now and always see inspiring photos here.
Well, much to my surprise, I noticed on her post from yesterday, she mentioned blue chickadee!!!  It's always fun coming across your work on a blog of someone you admire!!!  She helped a customer of mine out with her nursery design a few months back.  Do you remember my post about the UPS disaster???!!!

In my mind, how can you forget???
This was such a disaster!  Shipped all the way to NYC only for it to arrive a week before "baby to be" was to arrive and it came out of the packaging looking like this!!!!  Ahhh!!!!!  Not to worry, this customer took it into her own hands and basically had to redo the entire painting and here it is now...

Go here to see more pictures of her adorable nursery!!!!

Ring Pulls

Plain Ring Pulls - Hardware

Back to the ole dresser hardware debate.  I have finally made a decision..or so I think.  I can always return:)  I decided to go with these ring pulls for little R's dresser.  The ones on the far left.  They came from Lee Valley Tools LTD and were only $36.95 including shipping for 10 pulls!!!!  That was just under half the price it would have cost to order the ones I adore from Anthropologie.  Still love them though.

Sad to say it still looks like this.

I have yet to paint it navy blue, but when I do, and I WILL, I will put these on and show you the finished product!!!  But in the meantime take a look at these below to give you an idea of how they will look.  Good looking, huh?!
