Slacker

I know I have been the worst about keeping up this blog, but lately things are getting busier and busier!!!  All in a good way but my blog has become last on my list.  I imagine things will not slow down until after Christmas, am I right?  Do all of you feel this way?  

One exciting thing for us at Novel. is that this time of year means lots of Holiday Shows!!!!  We have many fun events ahead and one happens to be today at Fleur in Raleigh, NC!!  So if any of you live there or have friends or family in Raleigh, then head on over to the trunk show going on today!!!!  Lots of new goodies from Blue Chickadee, Library, Balboa and Bon Vivant!!!

Now on to what I have been up too these past couple of weeks.  Basically I have been eating and drinking my way through!  Ridiculous how many pictures I had on my phone of food!!!

Finally got to try out  Butcher & Bee here in Charleston on Upper King Street.  Man was it worth the wait!!!  I had the Pulled Squash sandwich, sounds odd, and it was, but it was mouth watering good!  The squash had been pickled as well as BBQ'd if I remember correctly.  Anyway, yum!  You should go!  Things for vegetarians and meat lovers!!!

Now I was also painting in between my binge eating.

Finally finished and shipped off this beauty to NYC this week.  It's going in a baby girl's nursery.  I cannot wait to see it hanging!

Working on a few little side projects for a friend.  

I can't disclose just yet but it will be worth the wait!!!

And to end it all, I got to meet up with some old college buddies!!!  How fun is it to laugh so hard your stomach muscles hurt?  Can't wait til the next time!

Out of the Blue

Been working on a few things to gear up for our show at Novel. this Friday!!!  Cannot wait, but boy do I have a lot of painting to do!!!!

And I'll end with my excursion with the boys yesterday-such a gorgeous afternoon!!!  This new boardwalk/dock is at the end of our street/neighborhood and it was our first time exploring.

Who knew how much fun it could be to watch a shrimp boat dock itself....20 minutes later we made our way to the end.

Really good times with my two babies!!!

PS-Anyone notice the dominant color in every single picture???!!!  Obsessed much??!!!

Life Lately

I unloaded my Iphone last night and thought I would get you up to date with recent happenings around here.  Like you're interested.  Ha!  Funny how Instagram captures my life now.  Crazy but in one picture I can recount the whole day.

Azaleas already blooming in the yard??

Don't fresh flowers just make all the difference?  I swear I feel like I have a clean house when there are fresh flowers around.  

I tell ya.  That feeling lasted about two seconds once the badgers got going on their "pillow fort."  Off to make my chore chart for a guaranteed clean house!!  How does Jenny find the time to do all she does??  She is a true super woman!!!  Check out her chart below!

A few new totes I have been working on...

And a new painting

I sent this picture of my painting to Big R and his reaction was "which one of the monkey's made that???"  Translation...did a 2 year old or a 5 year old get a hold of the paints???  

Arrrrg!  

Seriously...I could reach through the phone and "jerk a knot in his neck"!!!!

I was kind of excited about it.  You see, I used to be an abstract artist way back in my college days.  I wanted a break from it all after graduating so it took me a loooong time before I wanted to jump back into it.  Still just messing around but it's fun and totally different from what I usually do with the animal/image silhouettes.

*The more I look at it the more iI want to go in and mess with it some more, so you may see an updated piece later in the week???

And a few house updates.

This is the front of our house now.  Big R cut back every single azalea and holly bush in front of the house.  He says they will grow back..maybe in a few years...  Rut-Ro....

And we got some new shingles.  That was almost a disaster that I forgot to tell you about.  Last week we selected our color and they arrived ready for install but they were light blue.  No joke, light blue.  I'm sorry to offend any of you who may like or have light blue shingles on your house, but not the look we were going for:)  An exchange was made and the charcoal black ones arrived this week.  Happy now.
